Conditions of travel (in force since 01.03.2011)

PURCHASES
Before getting on a bus, passengers must purchase a ticket at ticket offices or selling points instituted by the company in function of business conventions. It is possible to buy tickets inside the vehicle according to the conditions and the price rises foreseen from L.R. 42/98 and successive updates.

HOW TO GET A PASS
In order to buy any kind of personal pass it is necessary to have an identification card (at the price of ? 6,00) issued by SIENA MOBILITÀ. The cards can be:
- ordinary: valid to buy town ordinary passes (validity: 5 years) and out-of-town ordinary passes combined with town (validity: 3 years);
- workers: valid to buy special town passes for workers. In order to issue this card it is enough to ask the worker a self -certification as subordinate employment. Validity: 5 years;
- students: valid to buy three-monthly town passes as well as out-of-town passes, addressed to students enrolled to the primary and secondary schools.
For the primary and middle schools, the card will be valid for the whole studies course and will not be renewed. For the advanced (upper) schools students, the cards must be validate at one of the SIENA MOBILITA' box offices or at the schools' secretaries. For the university students the cards must be validate at one of the SIENA MOBILITA' box offices; in order to issue this student's card it is enough to self-certificate this position. All students up to 26 years old can obtain this kind of pass;
- over-60-years-old retired people: issued to people over 60 years old having an income within the pre-estabilished income limits to be checked directly on the website, just downloading the form in the section Over-60 Relief Titles, or at the box offices and the Service Card;
- regional: issued in compliance to the status parameters according to the Regional Law 100/98 to be checked directly on the website, section Relief Titles L.R. 100/98, or at the box offices and the Service Card;
- pegaso: issued to the Pegaso Card's owners. The way to obtain such card can be checked directly on the website, section Pegaso, or at the box offices and the Service Card.

HOW TO GET A DUPLICATE
It is possible to get a pass and/or a card duplicate, subject to verification of the purchase, directly at the company box offices at the cost of euros 4,00 each.

CONDITIONS OF VALIDITY
All tickets (including passes) must be validated at the beginning of the journey through the appropriate stamping machines, which are found on buses. The passenger is held to verify the ticket by stamping it. In cases where the stamping machine doesn't work, the passenger must literally write the date and time of the start of the journey, giving well-timed and contestual communication to the driver. Tickets are for one-person use only, and must be kept for the whole duration of the journey, up to the moment of getting off the transport. Each passenger is held to present their ticket at every request by the staff who check them.

VALIDITY
Passes are entirely personal and only valid when accompanied by the RECOGNISED PASSES (calls cost € 6.00) issued by the Company, which are valid for the urban and / or combined with the urban: 5 years, for the tiles students: 5 years primary, 3 years average, 5 years colleges and universities, for the other categories-urban: 3 years.
Passes are valid if the number of the pass has been transcribed and if the indication of the distance has been written.
Monthly passes are valid from the 1st to the last day of the solar month, while weekly passes are valid for 6 days (from Monday to Sunday) in the week indicated and excluding the day in which it must be crossed out for non-use.
Mutli-monthly passes are valid from the 1st day of the 1st month to the last day of the last month of validity.
The 10 month extra-urban student subscriptions are valid from 1 September to 30 June.
The extra-urban student subscriptions can be purchased by those who are enrolled in a primary or secondary school course of study.
All the passes must be stamped at the beginning of the 1st journey and they must be kept for the whole duration of their validity.
FAILURE TO USE PASSES: in cases where the passenger cannot use the ticket (pass), it could be refunded or get an extended validity. This is on the condition that the data is communicated to SIENA MOBILITA' before the first weekday of validity. An extention of validity is accepted in the case of the presentation of a certificate that certifies hospitalisation.

TICKET REFUND
Due to the non-payment attributable to the company, the right to a ticket refund matures only on the following conditions: - for extra-urban services; in cases where the route carried out is more than 30 minutes delayed (art. 16 D.P.G.R. 9/R - 2005). The refund consists of the reimbursement of the ticket price, by writing to: SIENA MOBILITA' S.S.73 Levante n° 23 - 53100 Siena - also please include the ticket.
Matters regarding conciliation are to be directed to the territorially competent Ombudsman, an institutional figure that can settle any disputes between clients and Siena Mobilità.

CONCILIATING AND JUDICIAL PROCEEDINGS
In order to bring a conciliating proceeding and solve a dispute with the company, the customer can apply, with a special instance, to:
- the Conciliating Arbitrary Chamber, care of the local Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The proceeding is free if the citizen is helped by a consumer association; however, a legal assistance is not required.
- the local Public Defender, as institutional person, who can resolve possible disputes between the customers and the company Siena Mobilità
In order to appeal to the judicial authority instead, the customer will have to turn to the justice of the Peace or to the low-court of the area according to the proceeding required by the lows in force.

ANIMAL TRANSPORTATION RULES
On SIENA MOBILITA' methods of transport, it is not possible to transport animals with exception to guide dogs for the blind and small sized animals, for which the following rules apply: - any blind passenger can bring one guide dog free of charge, with a muzzle. Small dogs with muzzles are allowed, through the purchase of a ticket. Other small animals are allowed, as long as they are carried in cages, boxes or other adapt containers, to avoid passengers getting injured or dirtied by the animals. Such animals should be kept on the owners lap or on a lead, so long as no other passengers object (L.692/1975). In the case where animals dirty, ruin the vehicle or cause damage to people or things, the owner who has accompanied the animal will be responsible for the damages (art 2052 c.c.).

LUGGAGE TRANSPORTATION RULES
The passenger's baggage must be placed in the appropriate designated areas and the price of the transportation must be paid when buying tickets, according to the tariffs in use. Every passenger has the right to travel with a maximum of 2 suitcases that are no heavier than 10 kg and that are no larger than a maximum of 50 x 30 x 25 cm. It is necessary to buy an extra ticket for baggage that is larger than the above. The responsibility for damages, thefts, tamperings, dispersions and worsening of transported objects are disciplined in art. 1681 C. C. Siena Mobilita' will not respond to luggage left on their buses.

TARIFFS FOR UNACCOMPANIED PARCELS
It is possible to send unaccompanied parcels that weigh no more than 20kg, and have a maximum dimension of 50 x 50 x 50 cm. The cost is 7,50euros per parcel, with a value of no more than 500 euros for each parcel. On board SITA buses the service is insured from and to the main places connected by the TPL services. This service is not used on LFI and RAMA buses.

TARIFFS FOR ACCOMPANIED PARCELS
A ticket must be bought for parcels that have a dimension larger than 50 x 30 x 25cm.

CONDITIONS OF TRAVEL FOR CHILDREN
Children of a height of no more than one metre and accompanied by a passenger can travel free if they do not occupy a seat, beyond this height a normal ticket must be bought. In cases where the passenger accompanies more than one child, one of them may travel for free while the other is obliged to pay for a normal ticket.

OBLIGATORY USE OF SEATBELTS ON BOARD BUSES
Law 911671/CEE, il D.Lgs. 150/06 has been introduced for the obligatory use of seatbelts for passengers over the age of 3, when seated. The obligation does not apply to vehicles that have no seatbelts. A fine from 68 euros to 275 euros may be charged if this law is not respected.
